A 100 % nature walk !

The Caves of La Balme are located on a Preserved Natural Area called « Les Coteaux de Saint-Roch ». The city of La Balme-les-Grottes obtained this label in 2009.

What is a Preserved Natural Area ?

It is a valuable place in terms of natural heritage (fauna, flora and landscape).

The objectives are :
* To protect the biodiversity of a specific area, working on its access to the general public ;
* To inform on the ecosystem's management and protection issues.

SET OF EDUCATIONAL PANELS !

Since many years, fauna and flora scientific studies have been coordinated on the Preserved Natural Area « Les Coteaux de Saint-Roch ».

In January 2018, The Caves of La Balme have set information panels near the entrance office with an objective of raising public awareness.
These panels have been created in various forms : a general map and different kids games.

Families would now be able to learn more about the local environment thanks to an educational content adapted to anyone !
